Overview

The early years’ sector is one that continues to grow. If you are seeking a career working with babies and children, this course will give you the knowledge and understanding of childcare and education, including child development, play, physical care needs and health and safety.

Incorporating work placements, this course provides you with practical training in early years’ settings, where you can put your learning into practice.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is for you if you would like to gain professional knowledge and understanding of child development and education, take part in organised visits, and experience alternative approaches to education, culture, and religion. The qualification can lead you to employment in the Early Years sector or into further study at university.

  • Entry Requirements Arrow down

    You must have a minimum of four GCSEs at grades 9-4 in three or more subjects, including a grade 4 or higher in English or Maths. You will also need a full DBS certificate.

  • Experiences Arrow down

    This course will provide you with the opportunity to put your learning into practice with work placements throughout your two year course. You will also be able to visit leading universities including the University of Hull, to speak to academics and lecturers about your next steps after completeing your course.

  • Progression Arrow down

    Students who complete the L3 qualification in Children’s Play, Learning & Development can go on to complete a degree in an area like Early Years or Primary Teaching, as well as secure higher level apprenticeships in areas like nurseries, creches or schools.

  • Outcomes Arrow down

    Students who complete a qualification in Children’s Play, Learning & Development go on to a wide variety of jobs. These can include: Early Years Practitioner, Primary School Teacher, Teaching Assistant, or Youth Worker, to name a few.
