You must have:
• A minimum of five GCSE grades 9-4 and a GCSE average of 5.3
• A grade 4 or higher in GCSE English Language
• A grade 4 or higher in GCSE Spanish
This course will provide you with the opportunity to explore Spanish as a language both inside and outside the classroom. You will be given the chance to put your newly learned language skills to good use on our trip to Spain, where you can explore the culture to better understand the language. You will also be given the chance to participate in weekly conversation classes, where you can practice your spoken language skills with other students.
Spanish lends itself well as a basis for a degree in Spanish or another foreign language. It can also help with degrees in Travel and Tourism or Translation, or even foreign literature.
Students who complete a qualification in Spanish go on to a wide variety of jobs. These can include: Interpreter, Translator, Private Tutor, Tour Manager, Academic Researcher or Teacher, to name a few.
