NAPA and Wilberforce College are thrilled to share the first project from our full-time Performing and Production Arts students.
‘Beyond the Waiting Room’ was originally set to be an open-air interactive piece of work featuring dance, music and a tour of historical sites in the city but the students had to adapt their project due to Covid-19 restrictions.
They worked with local historian Mike Covell of Amazing Hull Tours to bring to life the journey of immigrants travelling through Hull during the late 19th and early 20th century.
We’re so proud of our students who worked on location, props, scenery, costumes and lighting as well providing vocals for Andrew Siddle’s haunting original score and performing in the piece itself.
Thanks must go to Storyboard Media for coming onboard at the last minute to pull the film together and to NAPA alumnus Jacob Butler for the spoken word.
Thanks also to those students who’ve expressed an interest in joining us next year. There’ll be an information/taster evening later in January if you’d like to join our exciting, vibrant course in 2021. We’d love you to be a part of this hugely practical course which is taught on stage at NAPA and on campus at Wilberforce.
