Our BTEC Level 3 Extended Travel and Tourism students have recently completed an intensive one day British Airways Air Cabin Crew Training Course. This took place at the bespoke British Airways Training Centre based at Heathrow Airport in London.
The students’ training took place alongside fully qualified British Airways Cabin Crew who were also receiving training or refresher courses. The course was delivered by fully qualified, very experienced senior Air Cabin Crew and gave a taste of the type of full training Air Cabin Crew can expect to receive with British Airways including areas such as; Crew Resource Management, Dangerous Goods, Doors and Exits, Fire and Smoke, Pilot Incapacitation, Security, Slide Descents & Slide Rafts and Survival.
A fun and informative time was had by the eight Travel and Tourism students; Jessica Brice, Lucy Fisher, Kinga Later, Charlotte Mills, Kate Nutley, Tiegan Stephenson, Imogen Walker and Cathy Yeung, some of whom are now seriously considering applying for Air Cabin Crew positions. The visit was combined with a day in London and the whole experience touched upon all the classic elements of the travel industry from accommodation through to transport, hospitality and air cabin crew training. This most successful student experience was organised by the Business Studies and Modern Foreign Languages Dept teaching staff, Michelle Jackson and Mark Brown!
