We are creating a plan to re-open College on a limited and phased basis. The safety of our students and staff, and their families, is paramount and all measures will be put in place to ensure we conform with social distancing and other guidelines, including doing everything we can to ensure our building and ways of working are as safe as we can make them.
We are already working closely with our students using online and other remote learning methods. This is proving to be very effective for most young people in keeping them on track and ensuring that they make the progress they are capable of.
Therefore, our plans for limited reopening in June will at first focus on our students who are a) not displaying any symptoms and b) have found it difficult to engage with online learning, as well as vulnerable students who could benefit from some additional one-to-one support at this stage in their learning.
Our plan is that from 15 June 2020 selected students will be invited into College for a one-to-one support session with a member of staff. We will then roll out invitations to wider groups of students in the weeks after.
Although there is absolutely no pressure on students or their families to attend College at this time, we do expect all young people to continue to engage with their teachers using the online learning systems we have provided until the end of Summer Term.
