WE ATTAINED A 99% A-LEVEL PASS RATE, AND 28 OF OUR A-LEVEL COURSES GOT 100% PASSES
Benji has gained two A*’s and two A’s in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and an Extended Project and is now looking forward to taking up a place at Aston University to study Optometry. Whilst at College Benji took some work experience with local optometrist, Richard Sellers, at two local optician practices, Daniels Turner Associates and Higsons. These were a great success and really helped Benji make his final career decision go into the field of optometry.
Lucy was another Wilberforce high flyer this summer gaining three A's in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at A-Levels. These are now taking her to the University of Liverpool to study to be a vet. Lucy, formerly of Andrew Marvell, shed a few tears of joy when she found out her results on August 14th, as these fantastic results were gained after lots of hard work!
Sophie, who came to us from Winifred Holtby Academy, got two A's and a B at A-Level in Law, Media and English and these are taking her to Northumbria University to study Law. Sophie was absolutely delighted with her results – as you can see from the pic! "I had to scream a little bit when I looked at my results as I was so pleased – they were better than I expected! I’ve really enjoyed my time at Wilberforce – it’s been awesome!"
Jack achieved three A*s in Chemistry, Maths and Physics and is looking forward to going to Manchester University to study Chemistry with industrial experience: "I’m shocked but really pleased with my results, I had no idea I’d get such high grades! It was hard work but worth it in the end. I’ve had a great two years at Wilberforce, all the teachers here have been really helpful. If anyone enjoys sciences, go for it, you’ll get all the support you need."
Lucy got A*s in Media Studies and General Studies plus A's in English Language and Spanish and is going to Sheffield University to study Linguistics with Hispanic Studies. "I’ve no words, I’m just gobsmacked and don’t know what to do with myself I’m so happy! I’ve absolutely loved the college atmosphere and studying here with lots of helpful teachers to support me."
Laura got an A* in Geography, and an A in English Language and has gone to study Sustainability and Environmental Management at Leeds University. "Laura made incredible progress during the second year of her Geography A Level. She improved a C grade at A/S to an A* at A2, showing great determination and commitment!" said her Geography Teacher, Richard Hurrell.
I love Wilberforce, I feel it has set me up for my career in Fashion Design. I love the coffee, the cookies and fish & chip Fridays!
