SPORT

Since retiring from professional football I decided to pursue a career in teaching. Sport was the obvious choice given my background and love of physical activity. I initially joined Wilberforce College as a Sport Maker, a role which focussed on giving students the opportunity to participate in a range of different activities to  enhance the breadth of experience whilst at college. This gave me a greater understanding of what the students desired to do in their free time. Two years into the Sport Maker role I started my teacher training for two years before completing a further qualification to gain Qualified Teacher Status. I am also the Enrichment Manager at the college, responsible for enriching the student experience and helping students achieve additional qualifications on a Wednesday afternoon.

Another role which I thoroughly enjoy is coaching the Football 1st team, I currently hold a UEFA B license and run my own football academy outside of the college which has given students the opportunity to gain experience and I now employ three former students.

Away from college I enjoy spending time with my boys and partner, I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to have visited some spectacular places in the world. I still keep fit by playing the occasional game of semi-pro football despite nearly being 40 (!) and most nights I can be found at the gym once I’ve finished coaching at one of my football academies.

I look forward to meeting new students and sharing my knowledge and experiences but most importantly assisting with the progress of each individual and having the reward of seeing you achieve your goals.
