Health and Social Care

I teach Health and Social Care at the college. I’m currently the Course Leader for Level 2, and I also teach on the 2nd year of the Level 3 course, including a unit on complementary therapies which is also one of my personal interests.

I have a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Science, and also a Master’s degree, as well as my teaching qualifications. During my career I have had academic textbooks published, have worked for Edexcel (the awarding body for the qualifications I teach), taught in FE, Secondary Schools, and 6th Forms, and worked as 14-19 Education Manager across the city.

In the past I have worked within the Health and Care sector gaining a broad range of practical experience, including working with the elderly and those with dementia, in a children’s hospital, in special needs education, and with adults with various disabilities within the voluntary sector. I currently work with various charities and organisations, raising awareness and I encouraging our students to take part in activities to benefit others.
