I have taught Biology and Science for the past 10 years and particularly enjoy helping people to bring out the best in themselves and achieve things that they didn’t believe were possible. My career in education started with supporting Year 9 students in science lessons whilst I was studying my A-levels. After finding this rewarding and being inspired by my Biology teacher I then completed a degree in Biology at the University of Hull where I studied a module called ‘biology in education’. From this, I moved on to complete a PGCE at the University of Hull and then secured my first full time teaching position.
In my career, I have been a teaching and learning coach, Head of Biology at two different institutions, Head of Department and now I am currently Faculty Head of STEM here at Wilberforce Sixth Form College. I am thoroughly enjoying helping students to get where they want to be in life. Wilberforce College does an incredible job in providing students with a quality education. Because the work we do gets our students onto competitive university courses and into excellent careers I am very grateful to be a part of this.
