I started my hairdressing career straight from school. My first job was as an apprentice at one of the top and most well-known salons in the town centre. I developed a passion for hairdressing from the start and still feel as enthusiastic now as I did then.

When I finished my apprenticeship I moved to another top city centre salon as a stylist where I built up an excellent clientele. After a couple of years I went to work as a senior stylist at a recognised international salon where I stayed until I was offered a job as a Salon Manager at a well-established Beverley salon whose owner wanted to open a second salon in the east of Hull. This was a very exciting and challenging move. After building up the clientele and good reputation for that salon I decided to go self-employed and still have the same clients today.

Wanting to challenge myself further I embarked on a teaching career so I could share my skills, love and passion of the industry. My first teaching job was with a private apprentice and schools provider teaching several courses and qualifications. I then moved to Wilberforce when they launched a full-time course in Hairdressing. I have worked with all the main hair product manufacturers including Wella, L’Oreal, Matrix and Affinage as well as many more.

I am so lucky to have had a great career combining my teaching with my own business as a mobile hairstylist.
