Leanne Nicholson

I have been working in the Hair industry since I was 16.   I love it as much now as I did the first time I stood behind my chair. I started my career as an apprentice in a very modern hair salon  then worked my way up to  becoming manager for 15 years. I have worked with all the main hair product manufacturers including Wella, L’Oreal, Matrix and Affinage as well as many more.

Throughout my career I have entered a number of regional competitions, most memorable was becoming a semi-finalist in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy and going onto judge competitions.

After building up the good clientele and reputation I decided to open my own hairdressing business alongside doing my teaching qualification. My first teaching job was in the private sector teaching apprenticeships NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3.  I now work at Wilberforce Sixth College as a hairdressing teacher.

Sharing my skills and knowledge with new students throughout my teaching career has been a highlight. Watching them master the art of hairdressing is what training is all about, and I love it.
