I enjoy combining my two passions, a love for the visual arts and teaching, which have led to me working in my dream job as an Art and Textile teacher. I studied Textile Design at Loughborough University, specialising in Fine Art Textiles. For my final show, I created large scale wall hangings inspired by aerial views of the Yorkshire landscape, which gave me the exhilarating experience of flying and landing an aeroplane whilst photographing the patterns in the land.   This work was exhibited at New Designers in London and I was approached by several design agencies.

Following graduation, I worked as a freelance textile designer for Lewis & Lewis design agency in London.  My embroidered and mixed media work was sold internationally at trade fairs in Japan, Paris and New York, the work was purchased by print companies to be developed into printed lengths for use in both Fashion and Interiors. I then started working as a Lecturer in Hull and discovered a love for teaching!

This year I acquired the additional role of becoming the Wilberforce College School Liaison manager. I am extremely excited to be given the opportunity to promote the exceptional work that we do here at Wilberforce
