Former Trinity House pupil Billy Cowell is working hard to become a Chartered Accountant after gaining a scholarship from Kaplan whilst at Wilberforce in 2008 – 2010
- School: Trinity House
- Studied at Wilberforce: 2008 – 2010
WHAT DID YOU STUDY WHILE AT WILBERFORCE AND WHAT WERE YOUR RESULTS?
A-levels in Business (A), Maths (A), IT (C) and General Studies (C). I also completed AS level PE (A) in my first year at Wilberforce.
FONDEST MEMORY OF COLLEGE?
I played basketball for the college team, which was a lot of fun. Also, the teachers, particularly for business and maths were great; just really helpful.
WHAT DID YOU DO AFTER COLLEGE?
Through the careers department at Wilberforce, I got scholarship with Kaplan Financial which meant I got about £15,000 of training for free – studying and working at the same time. After completing my AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) training, I have gone onto a job with Hull-based chartered accountancy firm, Smailes Goldie. I am now working towards my ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants) qualification, which, when complete, will mean I am an Chartered Accountant.
