On W DAY TWO you will get to sample an enrichment activity to show you some of the types of things you can get up to at Wilberforce along aside of your studies to ensure you develop skills outside of the classroom that will further your progression.

Creativity and Art:
- Book Making and Drawing: Learn how to make sketchbooks with a single piece of paper and explore art media and techniques to be creative and personalise your books.
- Photography (Traditional and Digital): Explore traditional, digital and cameraless photography to create and showcase a personal collection of work.
- Creative Branding Designs: Look at how companies are innovative with branding in terms of name, logo, colour, music, mission statements, slogans and vision.
- Cross Stitch: Are you creative or do you want to try something new? Learn to sew your own design.
- Let’s Get Crafty: Here we will be putting together the love of crafting and business entrepreneurship! Take your hand at crafting activities with a view to plan and prepare a sales event to look to reinvest the money for materials and stock. Activities and crafts are led and driven by you so we can do what you want! Previous examples include jewellery making, air dry clay, pocket hugs and diamond painting. You will need to get involved in planning and leading an event, so you will need to have excellent attendance to this session.
- Ronno Records (Songwriting): Whether you sing, play guitar, keys, or create beats, you’ll have the space and guidance to turn ideas into confident performances. If you’re curious about writing songs, love performing, and want reliable studio-quality spaces to hone your craft in a supportive, art-collective environment. Designed for students who haven’t applied to the full Music Performance & Production course, giving you a low-commitment gateway into the creative arts.
- Sustainable Textile Sampling: Get creative and create textile samples from sustainable materials. You will experiment with weaving, patchwork and applique from 100% recycled resources.

Critical Thinking and Discussion:
- A Career In Law: Research the different qualifications needed to work in law and find out about careers.
- Inside the Mind of a Murderer: Get involved in psychological discussion and analysis behind the criminal mindset of a murderer.
- Business on TV: Explore the transferable skills required to progress in any business. You will watch and analyse the performance of the participants on the BBC Apprentice and Dragon’s Den TV shows to help you develop an understanding of just how important those transferable skills really are.

Health and Wellbeing:
- Health and Wellbeing Club: As well as looking after our own wellbeing by showing kindness to ourselves, we will also be demonstrating kindness to others by taking part in a range of activities and creative strategies. We will examine the different causes of poor mental health and wellbeing plus ways to spot the signs.
- Clinical Skills for Health Workers: Obtain theory and practical knowledge around specific clinical skills for health workers and skills required within the health industry.
- Baking with a Twist: Is day to day living easy when you have a disability? Come and experience this fun session, exploring how to bake… with a twist!
- Festival Hair & Beauty Workshop: Create exciting festival hair and make up, including colour braids, glitter and all things that sparkle.
- Holistic Treatments: You will be working on another member of the class, so please be prepared to have a treatment, as well as carry out a treatment. Learn skills and techniques within Indian head massage, hand and arm massage, basic facial massage all within a relaxed and professional environment.

STEM Skills:
- Introduction to Programming: Be introduced to the world of programming and develop any existing skills in Python. Alternatively develop your skillset in another language, e.g. Javascript, C# or Visual Basic. All abilities welcome!
- Engineering Apprenticeships Support Society: Designed to support students with information and advice regarding competitive engineering apprenticeships within the region. Covering career options in the industry, information on training providers, CV writing support, insight into the application processes and interview techniques.
- The Design Workshop: If you’re passionate about design engineering then be part of our projects building electric racing cars for the Green Power Car project or restoring classic motorbikes to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Try your hand at creating Christmas decorations and building dolls houses. As part of a small team we tackle a range of problems and learn new skills.
- Lab School (Chemistry): An opportunity to deliver fun and engaging science experiments to primary school students. You will research and plan a fun activity to demonstrate to young students to help them to understand more about the world around them and encourage them to be inquisitive and enthusiastic about science. You will gain and develop transferable skills that can be included in personal statements and CVs such as planning, teamwork and presenting as well as making sure that the demonstration as safe for everyone involved.
