If at any point you feel as though you’re struggling with any aspect of your course or if you’d like support to help you achieve top grades, our Study Support Tutors are here to help.
Based in the Study Centre, they offer individual or small group tuition, as well as support in the classroom. You can call into the Centre any time during the day if you need a quiet working area. Or if you’d like to benefit from subject-specific support, you can speak with your teachers who will arrange for you to meet with a Study Support Tutor, or speak to Jill Naylor, Study Support Manager who can be emailed on email@example.com
To complement the Study Support Tutors who provide additional support to students, we also have a team of Curriculum Support Mentors. These are all ex-Wilberforce students currently studying at the University of Hull. They attend one day per week and provide support to individuals and small groups of students across the curriculum. Not only do the mentors provide invaluable subject-specific support, plus help with organisation, planning and exam revision, but they are excellent role models to students who themselves might be contemplating university study.
Every student will have an
Academic Mentor. Students will attend weekly group tutorials, one to one learner progress meetings and have the opportunity to work closely with their mentor on key areas such as university, apprenticeship and job applications. As well as this wrap around support mentors offer the students, they will work with the individual to ensure the reach their fullest potential.
