GCSE Resits
Today, we celebrate the achievements of our students receiving their GCSE Maths and English resit results. We are beyond proud of the progress made by our students this November, with an exceptional pass rate-maintained year on year at 98.23%. The results and progress from starting point grades are a testament to the dedication, resilience, and ambition of our students, as well as the outstanding support provided by our teaching teams
GCSE resits at Wilberforce are not just for students who have achieved a grade 3 in English and Maths. They also offer an important opportunity for students who already hold a pass but need a higher grade to progress to their chosen university course or to meet entry requirements for specific career pathways.
Many universities and professional sectors require higher GCSE grades as part of their entry criteria. Students aiming for careers in areas such as nursing, teaching, engineering, policing, healthcare, or other competitive technical and professional sectors often need a grade 5 or above in English and/or Maths. Our resit programme is designed to support these students in strengthening their core skills, building confidence, and achieving the results they need to take the next step in their education or career.
Our students balance demanding study programmes alongside resits, demonstrating determination and a commitment to their future goals.
Principal Colin Peaks commented “ We are incredibly proud of every student who has taken on the challenge of a GCSE resit and succeeded. Their achievements reflect the supportive learning environment at Wilberforce and our shared belief that with the right guidance and determination, higher goals are always within reach”
Congratulations to all our GCSE resit students, your success is well deserved.
