Achievement Awards Evening 2025

We celebrated the outstanding progression of our students by showcasing their incredible achievements at our annual Awards Evening hosted by the University of Hull at their Middleton Hall.

Celebrating Achievement: Wilberforce Awards Evening 2025

Bridges to the Future

The spirit of ambition, talent, and resilience lit up the 2025 Wilberforce Achievement Awards Evening in April – with an unforgettable celebration at the University of Hull’s Middleton Hall, held under the inspiring theme “Bridges to the Future.”

The evening began with a captivating live performance from Year 1 UAL Music Performance and Production student, Harry Hopper. Known for his unique style and impressive musicality, Harry set the tone for the night with his fantastic vocals and accomplished guitar playing. With a promising future ahead, he’s certainly an artist to watch.

Adding to the entertainment, students from Wilberforce College and NAPA’s Performing and Production Arts course delivered a vibrant and energetic Jersey Boys medley. With sharp choreography, rich harmonies, and magnetic stage presence, their performance brought the legendary sound of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to life – earning rapturous applause.

As the evening continued, Assistant Principal Stewart Edwards spoke to the audience, offering words of encouragement and reflection:
"Education is more than what happens inside a classroom. It’s a bridge – a powerful connection between the present and the future. Our students build those bridges daily, through dedication, resilience, and a commitment to their dreams."

The awards ceremony recognised students from each of our 8 faculties: Communications & Culture, Creative Media and Performance, Digital & Engineering, Health, Care & Internships, Humanities & Social Sciences, Maths & Business, Sciences & Arts, Sports & Public Services. Each award presented by staff, partners, and sponsors told a story of commitment and determination – achievements often reached in the face of adversity.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made the evening possible – from our incredible students and their supportive families to the dedicated staff and partners. Special thanks to the University of Hull, NAPA, and our sponsors: FR Scott, Hull Kingston Rovers and The Matthew Good Foundation.

Together, we celebrated not just success, but the journey each student is taking toward a bright and promising future.
