Experience life as a Wilberforce student!
Over two days you will sample your subjects, meet your teachers and have the chance to familiarise yourself with the college.
This is a huge benefit before starting with us in September. Attendance is a compulsory part of enrolment and securing your pace on your chosen programme.

W DAY ONE: Wednesday 26 June 8:45am – 4pm
- Please arrive at college no later than 8:30am.
- You will head straight to a tutorial session which will prepare you for the day ahead. You will receive a text message with the location of your tutorial session the day before on Tuesday 25 June.
- Once you receive your timetable during tutorial, you will see you have 4 sessions of: your chosen sample subjects, an Academic Mentor talk to discuss an extra tutorial we offer which will help prepare you for life beyond College, as well as a Principal Welcome to discover the expectations of our students.
- W DAY ONE is all about sampling your chosen subjects, so if you know that you have changed your mind since your interview then please email liaison@wilberforce.ac.uk
- If you have chosen to sample A Level or BTEC Extended Certificate subjects, you will take part in an A level study skills session. This session will focus on how to prepare for academic study and how best to utilise your study periods throughout the college week.
- It’s the perfect opportunity to meet your future classmates and teachers.
- Familiarise yourself with YOUR future college surroundings.
- Lunch is on us – During lunchtime you’ll be able to sample what’s on offer in our main eatery ‘Refuel’

W DAY TWO: Thursday 27 June 9am – 1pm
- Get involved in Upskilling activities which will enrich your extra-curricular programme alongside your studies
- If it’s of interest to you then you can trial for a Sports Academy: Hull KR Dual Development Rugby Academy, North Ferriby FC Football Academy, Wilberforce Netball Academy. If this applies to you then remember to bring your kit and boots!
- During the afternoon of W DAY TWO, will get to attend the W DAYS Festival, with live music, DJ set, inflatable games, free street food and desserts!
- Enjoy making positive memories with new friends to kick-start your college life!

You will be able to trial your journey to college. Perhaps you may walk or cycle and use our secure bicycle storage off the front car park on Saltshouse Road.
If you will be travelling by bus, then familairse yourself with the college bus routes.
IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE: There have been some amendments to the return journeys on W DAY TWO only. Please see those amendments here.
TOP TIPS
- Think of 3 things that you want to find out about your chosen courses that you don’t already know
- If travelling to the college by bus then have a look at the bus timetable to plan your route
- Pick an area of the campus to go and explore that isn’t an area you will be studying in
- Remember to request your favourite song you want to hear at the festival when you sign-up on the W DAYS Eventbrite
- Aim to arrive at the college on both days no later than 8:30am
On W DAY TWO you will get to sample an enrichment activity to show you some of the types of things you can get up to at Wilberforce along aside of your studies tp ensure you develop skills outside of the classroom that will further your progression.
