Overview
This qualification is designed to provide a technical introduction to creative media production. The topics have been specifically chosen to give you a broad overview of the different technical disciplines that exist within the industry, so this is an excellent springboard into this massive growth industry.
During the course you will develop the skills of applying learning that brings together knowledge and understanding with practical and technical skill. This is achieved through learners performing practical filmmaking tasks that encourage the development of appropriate transferable skills. Transferable skills are those such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are valued in both higher education and the workplace.Â
This course of course allows learners to enter the industry and pursue different avenues associated with filmmaking and other break through roles, such as set design, lighting and costuming etc. It will also support entry to HE courses in a very wide range of disciplines, depending on the subjects taken alongside.  Â
What will you learn?
Over this two-year course, you will study areas like media representations, film production and digital game production, all of which are valuable skills to have if you are thinking about entering into the world of media as part of your career. The course is comprised of two practical units, Pre-production and Film Fiction, where you will be able to design, plan, produce and edit creative moving image. And a further two exam units, where you are assessed on different aspects of the media industry including representation and pitching & planning a media product.

Entry Requirements
You must have a minimum of five GCSEs 9-4, including English Language or Literature and Maths.

Experiences
You will get the opportunity to take part in many different talks and workshops from leading companies in the area, including Nova and Hull City Council. Within college, you will be able to use your newly-developed skills to create branding and imagery for College events, as well as showcase your work in our Creative Arts Festival.

Progression
Students who complete a qualification in Creative Digital Media Production can go on to complete a degree in an area like Media, Digital Creative Media or Digital Marketing. You may also want to undertake a higher level apprenticeship, which could be in TV, Marketing or Social Media – this course provides you with hands-on experience of television sets and production, so you’ll already have some industry work experience under your belt!

Outcomes
Students who complete a qualification in Creative Digital Media Production go on to a wide variety of jobs. These can include: Producer, Runner, Director, Journalist, PR Manager, Graphic Designer or Teacher.
