Inspiring engineers of the future
After the unveiling of our new multi-million pound Engineering and Technical Hub at Wilberforce, each new specialised room and workshop has the opportunity to be sponsored by businesses within the industry who share our vison to inspire and support the growth of the future engineers who study on our courses.
We are delighted to unveil the FR Scott Metalwork Room with recently installed graphics adorning the walls. With a rich history spanning many decades, FR Scott has been the cornerstone of engineering excellence, serving businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire since 1945. FR Scott or ‘Scotts’ as they are affectionately known, is a name synonymous with trust, reliability, and service with an unwavering commitment to supplying the tools and fixings that drive engineering enterprises forward.
Engineering is the backbone of innovation, shaping the world we live in today and building the foundations for tomorrow’s advancements and we are very excited that FR Scott are helping towards unlocking engineering excellence in Hull by supporting and investing in our young engineering students.
Principal Colin Peaks aptly encapsulates the significance of this investment, stating, “These new facilities will ensure that our students have access to equipment that mirrors the standards achieved in industry every single day.”
It’s a sentiment echoed by FR Scott’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Tony Rands, who emphasises the importance of the relationship between industry and academia in shaping the future of engineering.
“Our partnership with Wilberforce makes sense. Many of our current engineering customers have undertaken their engineering qualifications at Wilberforce. For the last year we have sponsored the Engineering Student of the Month award recognising individual hard work and talent. It was a natural progression to have one of the new rooms in the amazing facility named after FR Scott.”
