Progress Mentor
Closing date: 9:00am on Wednesday 09 October 2024 Actual salary: Points 10-12 on the SFCA Support Staff Pay Scale, actual salary £20,071 p.a. to £21,382 p.a.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic, innovative student achievement team.

The team provide strong academic support to students, raising their aspirations and performance and building ambition, confidence and resilience.

This is an ideal opportunity for those thinking of a career in education or a recent graduate. We are looking for candidates who want to work with young people to assist them to make the progress they need and to enable them to reach their full potential.

An opportunity is available, as part of this role, for the interested candidate to take a role in leading one of the College’s Rugby League teams.  This is not an essential part of the role and will not hinder any applications if a candidate does not wish to be involved with the sports team.

Administration Assistant
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 14 October 2024 Actual salary: £13,373 per annum to £13,872 per annum based on 25 hours per week, term-time only

We are seeking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our friendly central admin team. The successful applicant will have a positive and professional approach, be able to use their initiative and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Administration Assistant will take delegated responsibility for efficient communications with staff, partner schools, external agencies, parents and students in relation to exam access arrangements and annual reviews.  They will arrange meetings for the Study Support Manager, plan appointments for students with external agencies, minute team meetings, produce and share relevant documentation and provide general administration support.

Independent Governor (3 positions available)
Closing date: 11:59pm on Tuesday 31 December 2024 Actual salary: Voluntary

The Board of Governors are now seeking to appoint to three Independent Governor vacancies on our Governing Board.

We welcome applications from individuals who would like to help shape the strategic management of the college, gain new skills and experience, and use your knowledge and experience to make a difference. Previous experience as a governor is not required as training will be provided to support you in your role.

We are committed to the principles of equality and diversity, as such our appointments are made on merit, taking into account skills gaps and we particularly welcome applications from groups not yet represented on our Governing Board.

We currently have vacancies on our Governing Board, with a focus on recruitment to our Audit Committee and Finance and General Purposes Committee.

  • Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills (ie. email and word processing). With further training provided to support your role. 
  • You do not need to have governance experience to be a Governor. We have Governors with backgrounds in business, charity, education, government, law, accountancy, IT and audit.

Interested?

  • Training opportunities are provided for all Governors. 
  • All new Governors are assigned to an experienced mentor to support them through their first term.
  • Terms of office are usually between 2 and 4 years.
  • Meetings are usually held midweek 4:30pm – 6:30pm on site, with some option to attend virtually.
  • All Governors must complete safeguarding checks (DBS), annual eligibility declarations and complete a declaration for the Register of Interest.
