Teacher of English x 2 (Full Time / 0.6 FTE)
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 03 March 2025 Actual salary: SFCA Teacher Pay Scale, currently £31,568 per annum to £48,783 per annum (pro rata for part time working)

We are seeking to appoint two Teachers of English; one full time to include teaching on A-Level English Language, A-Level Language and Literature and GCSE re-sits where required and one 0.6 FTE to teach on the GCSE re-sit programme.

We are seeking two outstanding classroom practitioners, with a passion for English, in particular English language, and the ability to inspire young people to study and achieve at all levels of the English curriculum.  They should be committed to maintain the highest professional standards and be an enthusiastic team player who is willing to embrace the very best of current pedagogies to ensure that all learners achieve their potential.

Morning Cleaner
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 10 March 2025 Actual salary: £6,030 per annum (pay award pending)

10 hours per week, 06.00 to 08.00 Monday to Friday, full year.
26 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.

Working under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor duties to include, emptying bins and removing waste to a designated area; mopping; sweeping; spray cleaning; machine scrubbing and drying; buffing; suction cleaning; wall washing; window cleaning; dusting; damp wiping; washing; polishing; sanitary appliance cleaning (WC’s, urinals, wash hand-basins).

MIS Officer / Trainee
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 10 March 2025 Actual salary: SFCA Support Staff Pay Scale points 11 to 13 (£26,097 p.a. to £27,747 p.a. pay award pending)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our MIS Team.

Working with the MIS Manager the post holder will be required to support the day-to-day operation of the College’s Management Information System to ensure that all data, assessment, and curriculum information is up to date.  You will also provide support with the planning and development of the College timetable.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy of information and presentation and evidence strong analytical skills.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with prior experience in a similar role, however we are open to the appointment of a trainee.  Trainees would need to demonstrate excellent English and Maths skills and have a strong willingness from which to learn and grow.

Trainees will be offered a lower starting salary, (Scale Point 8 £24,010 p.a. pay award pending).  It is expected that on completion of the traineeship the successful candidate will progress onto the MIS Officer pay scale (above), subject to satisfactory performance.

Independent Governor (3 positions available)

The Board of Governors are now seeking to appoint to three Independent Governor vacancies on our Governing Board.

We welcome applications from individuals who would like to help shape the strategic management of the college, gain new skills and experience, and use your knowledge and experience to make a difference. Previous experience as a governor is not required as training will be provided to support you in your role.

We are committed to the principles of equality and diversity, as such our appointments are made on merit, taking into account skills gaps and we particularly welcome applications from groups not yet represented on our Governing Board.

We currently have vacancies on our Governing Board, with a focus on recruitment to our Audit Committee and Finance and General Purposes Committee.

  • You do not need to have governance experience to be a Governor. We have Governors with backgrounds in business, charity, education, government, law, accountancy, IT and audit.

Interested?

  • Training opportunities are provided for all Governors. 
  • All new Governors are assigned to an experienced mentor to support them through their first term.
  • Terms of office are usually between 2 and 4 years.
  • Meetings are usually held midweek 4:30pm – 6:30pm on site, with some option to attend virtually.
  • All Governors must complete safeguarding checks (DBS), annual eligibility declarations and complete a declaration for the Register of Interest.
