Wilberforce College’s Engineering Department is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership with City Electrical Factors (CEF), one of the UK’s leading electrical distributors. Known for its extensive industry reach and dedication to skills development, CEF is helping to shape the next generation of engineering talent.

As part of this partnership, CEF is generously providing donations of electrical equipment and storage solutions, creating a more resource-rich and practical learning environment. Access to industry-standard tools allows students to practise and refine essential technical skills in a workshop that mirrors real-world engineering settings, bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional practice.

A particularly exciting aspect of the partnership is the opportunity for student placements within CEF and its industry network. These placements give students firsthand experience, boost confidence, and develop critical thinking skills essential for the workplace. By collaborating directly with industry professionals, Wilberforce students gain insight into real-world engineering expectations, helping them make informed decisions about future careers and enhancing employability upon graduation.

Our electrical engineering teacher shared “The partnership with CEF is a real positive for our students. It gives them a good insight into the industry, helps them learn using the right equipment, and encourages them to take pride in what they produce. It’s a partnership that genuinely supports their development and next steps.”

This partnership exemplifies Wilberforce College’s commitment to practical, industry-aligned education, preparing students to succeed in engineering careers from day one.

To celebrate achievement and professionalism, there has also been an introduction to Electrical Engineering Student of the Month awards. These awards recognise students who show dedication, skill, and a commitment to high standards. By highlighting individual achievement, the initiative motivates students to excel while promoting a culture of excellence across our engineering community.
