Overview

If you want to progress onto further study in Art and Design this programme of study allows you to develop skills across a range of art and design approaches including painting, drawing, photography and 3 D Design.

What will you learn?

You will work through a set of art-based briefs to explore outcomes in a set of units before doing 2 exams, one of which is an unseen paper. Work will explore approaches in drawing, painting, printmaking and photography. All units are internally marked and externally moderated. Work is marked to assessment objectives and you do not receive marks for individual pieces of work but instead for how you develop your unit of work by responding to what you see other textile artists doing. In this way the unit is marked as a set of work at the end, including the final outcome. In this way it is much better to work consistently throughout the whole course and make sure all work is as complete as possible. Your work is marked each week.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is for you if you enjoy hard work, do not mind getting messy occasionally, enjoy seeing new approaches in art and questioning why things are the way they are. You will enjoy it if you like making things and if you want to progress to Extended Diploma (BTEC) Art and Design or A Level Art, Photography or Fashion & Textiles.
