Overview
A T-Level is a technical study programme, aimed at preparing young people for work, higher level Apprenticeships or Higher Education. The T-Level Technical Qualification in Education and Early Years has been produced by T Level panels based on the same standards as those used for apprenticeships.
This two-year programme is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to work in the Early Years Education industry.
It comprises the following components:
- an approved technical qualification, which includes the opportunity to specialise in at least one occupational role
- an industry placement with an external employer of at least 750 hours over two years
- employability, enrichment, and pastoral (EEP) elements
What will you learn?
The qualification has two components:
Core Component: themes to support holistic learning and understanding, including:
- Supporting education
- Behaviour
- Parents, families and carers
- Working with others
- Child development
- Equality and diversity
- Special educational needs and disability
- English as an additional language
Occupational Specialism Component: Early Years Educator:
- Support and promote children’s play, development and early education
- Develop relationships with children to facilitate their development
- Plan, provide and review care, play and educational opportunities to enable children to progress
- Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children
- Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers and other professionals to support children’s development
Assessment is in the form of exams, assignments and employer-set project work which allow you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.
Who is the course aimed at?
The purpose of the Level 3 Technical Qualification is to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training relevant to the T Level. This course is for you if you would like to work with children and within the children’s education industry.

Entry Requirements
You must have a minimum of five GCSEs grades 9-4, including English Language and Maths.

Experiences
You’ll be able to put your knowledge and skills into practice, with an industry placement of at least 750 hours over the two-year programme which will give you fantastic insight into the world of work, gain real-life experience and develop key skills that employers are looking for. You will also spend time in our on-site nursery room to develop your understanding of Early Years Education.

This technical qualification will support students on to a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships.
