REVISION TIPS

Our students have been sharing their top revision tips to help you prepare for your upcoming exams.

Their main tips were to:
• Test yourself or try teaching the topic you’re revising
• Write down everything you remember about a topic
• Use diagrams and mind maps to support your learning
• Practise past papers
• Revisit topics over time, rather than trying to remember everything the night before

These simple techniques can help you remember more and feel more confident when it comes to your exams.

BUSINESS ALUMNI – Amanjit’s Journey 📈🏙️

After achieving a Distinction, Merit, Merit in our BTEC Business course, Amanjit is now studying Property Finance and Investment at Nottingham Trent University and has been awarded the WCCS £30,000 bursary.

“My time at Wilberforce really shaped who I am today. The teachers genuinely cared about our progress and pushed us to achieve our goals. The support I had during my BTEC Business course helped me build confidence and find direction for my future. Wilberforce gave me the encouragement and guidance I needed to understand what I wanted to do next and to work towards my long-term ambitions.”

Since leaving Wilberforce, Amanjit has taken the next step into higher education in a subject aligned with their goal of working in real estate.

They plan to gain international experience in real estate investment, ideally in the United States, before launching their own real estate investment firm in the future.

TRAVEL & TOURISM ALUMNI – Leah’s Journey ✈️🌍

After achieving D*D*D in Travel and Tourism, Leah is now working full time as a Holiday Planner at Andrew Earles Holidays in Hull, turning their passion for travel into a career.

“I really enjoyed my time at Wilberforce College studying Travel and Tourism, as it helped prepare me for the next steps toward working in the travel industry. I gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that have stayed with me since leaving, and the experience gave me the confidence to pursue my career within the industry.”

Since leaving Wilberforce, Leah began working at Andrew Earles Holidays while still completing their course in April 2024, starting as a trainee supporting with administration. With training and support from the team, they have now progressed into a full-time Holiday Planner role.

“I absolutely love my job because no two customers are the same. I get to create so many different types of trips, whether it’s a honeymoon, a family holiday or a city break.”

Leah achieved exactly what she'd planned after receiving their results, and credit the knowledge and experiences gained during her course for helping secure their role within the Andrew Earles team.

Looking ahead, Leah plans to continue developing her industry knowledge and strengthening her sales skills to support her personal and professional progression within the company.
