Overview
This course is offered over a two-year period and is equivalent to one A Level designed to be studied as part of a wider programme. It will provide you with a broad introduction to working with children in the early years. In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain 50 hours of practical experience working in an early years setting.
This qualification will prepare you for a range of higher education courses and job roles related to the childcare sector. It provides progression by being accepted alongside other qualifications at the same level and adding value to them.
What will you learn?
You will learn about child development and theories of learning that are applied when working with young children. You will develop an understanding of the importance of play and how this is embedded throughout the early years curriculum. You will gain knowledge on the importance of safeguarding and ensuring the health and wellbeing of children.
Additionally, you will gain experience of working in the real environment of an early years setting.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSE grades 4-9 including English and Maths.
