Overview


This vocational course is the equivalent of one full A Level and will prepare you for working in one of the UK's most exciting industries. You will learn about how the travel and tourism industry works and why it is such an important sector in the economy.

What will you learn?

Year One Units

You will study a total of four units over two years. These include:

  • The World of Travel and Tourism 
  • Principles of Marketing in Travel and Tourism.

Year Two Units

Again you will study a total of two units including:

  • Managing the Customer Service Experience in Travel and Tourism.
  • Global Destinations

    Five 9 – 4 (A*-C) grades at GCSE or equivalent in at least three or more subjects including a minimum grade 4 in English.

    If you are interested in joining the College, we will arrange a meeting with an experienced subject counsellor who will help you to choose courses that best suit your ambitions and achievements.

    All entry requirement details are correct at the time of publication; however, the College may need to make some changes in light of student demand, staff availability and external factors beyond the College’s control.

  • Experiences Arrow down

    You will be taught by enthusiastic staff who share your interest in the travel and tourism industry. You will experience a wide variety of learning activities during the course including the chance to take part in several visits to the past local, regional and national travel and tourism venues. In the past students have visited Blackpool, York, London and Scarborough.

    There is likely to be the opportunity to visit overseas including Disneyland Paris.

    This course will provide opportunities for you to become employed in the travel and tourism industry, but will also prepare you to undertake one of the many travel and tourism-related degrees at university.

  • Outcomes Arrow down

    Students who complete a qualification in Travel and Tourism go on to a wide variety of jobs. These can include: Air Cabin Crew, Holiday Representative, Tourism Officer, Travel Agent or Hotel Manager, to name a few.
