CORONATION HERO: 🇬🇧 We are extremely proud of former Public Services student Oliver Thompson, who not only had the call up to parade in the Kings Coronation procession this bank holiday 👑, but who has been featured in the national press for his quick reactions to a flag bearer who collapsed and fainted during the event. Oliver said “ I saw out the corner of my eye that he wasn’t right, I asked if he was ok and the next minute, I heard his bearskin hat crash to the ground, so I rushed over to help"

Oliver popped into the college today to give his gratitude to teaching staff Claire and Dave for all their help in guiding him to a career in the Navy. He said “ If it wasn’t for the guidance and support of my teachers to follow my dream of a career in the Navy, I certainly wouldn’t have had the opportunity to serve my country at such a huge event, they really pushed me and gave me the focus I needed to apply for the 10 week course which I passed out in, in March of this year" Well done Oliver, we can’t wait to follow your journey in the forces.

A word from our Principal, Colin

Welcome to Wilberforce Sixth Form College. I hope you find the information you are looking for and that it gives you a flavour of everything we have to offer.

Wilberforce College has been a prominent establishment in the Hull community since 1988. We have grown year on year and currently serve around 1,350 students from East Hull, West Hull and the East Riding villages.

We offer all the specialisms of a sixth form college, delivering exclusively to 16-19 years olds, but have a broad curriculum that includes A Level, T Level, BTEC and City & Guilds qualifications. Our Level 3 Advanced qualifications are particularly successful and we continuously see our students progress to some of the best universities and careers.

The College’s support services are outstanding and complement students’ learning to ensure that they have the best chance of success and their experience with us extends beyond the classroom.

We continue to make significant investment in the College’s facilities, staff and students, ensuring that we remain the first choice for students, both now and in future years.

RIO-LEANNA DONKIN

PAST MUSIC PERFORMANCE STUDENT

Rio-Leanna Donkin is a previous Wilberforce student who completed BTECs in Music Performance, Music Technology, and Drama, alongside her English and Maths. With her sights set on a singing career, and some amazing performances already notched up.

I came to Wilberforce from Malet Lambert School.  Wilberforce was definitely my number one choice when looking at music courses in Hull. The teachers are passionate, the course has a great success rate, and we’re offered loads of opportunities to plan and perform at events.
