WILBERFORCE ALUMNI – Elisei Tomache’s Journey
During their time at Wilberforce College, Elisei enjoyed the supportive college environment, engaging lessons and the encouragement provided by staff throughout their studies.
“I have enjoyed every little part of Wilberforce College, from the captivating and interesting classes to the college environment and the amazing staff they have. My time at Wilberforce College was an amazing experience, full of great memories. One thing that has stayed with me since leaving is the kindness and willingness of the staff, who were always ready to help every student reach their highest potential.”
After leaving Wilberforce, Elisei began an apprenticeship as an electrician with GW Power-Safe, pursuing a career that allows them to work in a hands-on environment.
“After I received my results, I was unsure of what I was going to do next. But I always knew what I wanted and loved to do. I wanted to be hands on, and I am now doing something I really enjoy.”
Looking ahead, Elisei plans to complete their apprenticeship and become a fully qualified electrician. They also hope to continue developing their skills through additional courses that will broaden their knowledge and support their long-term career progression.

One student, Harlee, said: "It was very interesting as the whole talk was focused on the assignment work and helped me understand it more. I feel like Dr Walter kept things lively and interesting to keep us engaged while giving facts like Hepatitis A is only 25% lethal and most people have a good recovery. I really found it helpful towards my assignment."
At Wilberforce, expert-led lectures give you the knowledge and support you need to smash your assignments and see science in action. Applications are still open for September 2026 don’t miss out! Apply now using the link in our bio 🔗 #ApplyNow #YourFutureYourChoice
LIVE BRIEF
Graphic Design and Textile students have been working on an exciting live brief with UK Greetings. They’ve been developing creative concepts, producing designs, and responding to a real client brief for a collection of cards and gift wrap and gaining first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in the creative industry.
This project gives students insight into professional design practice while helping them build a strong portfolio of work. Matt Thompson, Creative Manager at UK Greetings and a former student, recently returned to college to review their development work and provide professional feedback.
